I had a great session today with a little birthday girl who discovered she loves cake! Her mom has a business making jewelry, headbands, and other props and you could tell! This little girl was accessorized :) Not only did she get to experience cake for the first time, but also snow! I love how these photos turned out. Happy first birthday Chloe!

Northville, MI Baby Photographer | Happy Boy

I had the best shoot yesterday with six month old Nolan. He was seriously the happiest little boy ever; I think he's smiling in every shot! Nolan's grandparents and even great-great grandma were there to help make him laugh and you could totally tell he LOVED the audience! This is definitely one of my favorite ages to photograph.

Winter Wonderland Engagement

My beautiful little sister recently got engaged to her wonderful boyfriend of over four years and I was so excited when they asked me to take their engagement photos. They're planning a July wedding in Northern Michigan so they thought it'd be fun to take some photos up there. We got lucky with a fresh dusting of snow, it was gorgeous! We found a great spot at Castle Farms in Charlevoix as well as some local fields around Torch Lake. I wish I could always shoot there, everything is so picturesque. So for those of you nervous about outdoor shoots in the winter, definitely go for it! We were all freezing, especially poor Krista in short sleeves, but the pictures are worth it! Congratulations you two, xoxo!

Northville, MI Family Photographer | "What Should We Wear?"

Ok, so one of the questions I get the most is "What should we wear for our family session?" My answer is always color, layers, and accessories! I love what this family wore, especially with the beautiful red barn in the background. A lot of people are nervous that colors and patterns will be too busy, but I think it makes the photos more interesting. So get creative and have fun shopping!

Livonia, MI Senior Photographer | A Natural

I had the BEST time taking these senior portraits for Bethany. She was so much fun and an amazing model. Not only was she up for all of my poses, but she was coming up with her own! Sometimes I'll tell people to laugh and it comes off really fake, but Bethany's laugh was SO genuine every time. I'm so used to photographing babies and toddlers that I forget how easy teenagers are. I don't have to chase them or play peek a boo behind the camera, what a breeze! Thanks for a great session Bethany and good luck at college next year!

Northville, MI Newborn Photographer | Newborn Sweetness

This little mister is almost a year now, but I couldn't resist blogging his newborn session. I absolutely loved how these photos turned out. I'm friends with his parents and watching the two of them become a mom and dad was so special, I almost cried taking the pictures because there was just so much love! It's amazing how becoming a parent changes everything instantly! I really think these photos portray perfectly how much this little boy is loved.

Northville, MI Baby Photographer | Watch Me Grow!

One of my favorite parts of photographing families is watching babies grow up. I love when parents hire me to shoot all of their children's milestone photos - newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months, etc. This weekend I shot Miss G's 6 month portraits. How gorgeous is she?!
